Edgewater Residence

Concealed Utility in a Minimalist Envelope

The central challenge was concealing the heavy storage requirements of a primary residence—including nine dedicated closets and a full kitchen pantry—without cluttering the home's panoramic sightlines. The millwork needed to provide high daily utility while seamlessly integrating with the architectural shell, deferring to the waterfront views rather than competing with them.

Integrated entryway cabinetry as a functional transition motif

While the master bedroom features its own dedicated seating, the entry mudroom serves as the home's primary functional transition point from the exterior. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry maximizes vertical space in a narrow footprint. The execution demonstrates precision fitting to the architectural envelope, utilizing scribed top fillers and continuous vertical grain matching across the wall panels and bench back. A recessed toe kick gives this entry bench a refined, floating appearance.

The Master Suite: Purpose-Built Furniture

A major component of the project scope was the custom fabrication of built-in furniture for the master bedroom. To maximize spatial efficiency, Bricble engineered a custom bed featuring integrated storage drawers, keeping the floorplan clear of bulky freestanding dressers. This was paired with a custom bench specifically designed to create a dedicated reading nook, ensuring the bedroom remains a clutter-free, restful environment.

Cohesion Across the Home: 9 Custom Closets

The millwork scope required strict visual consistency across varied applications, from the kitchen to the home's 9 custom closets. Whether executing a reach-in wardrobe or a full walk-in system, all elements share a unified material language. Efficient internal organizers are frequently hidden behind flush-track sliding panels, ensuring that when doors are closed, the storage reads as a quiet, minimalist wall plane.

Materials & Precision

Light-toned White Oak veneer was selected for its clean grain and warmth, paired with matte white surfaces and sharp metal hardware. All casework was fabricated to exacting tolerances. This precision enabled details like flush sliding door tracks integrated directly into the ceiling, continuous grain matching across multiple drawer fronts, and tight reveal gaps between moving panels.

This precision is highly visible in the office's geometric “mountain-peak” shelving unit, which required complex mitered angles to seamlessly join the wood backing with the matte white, handleless upper cabinets.

Engineering the Floating Vanities

The five bathroom vanities feature thick solid-surface countertops with soft-radius internal corners to prevent dirt buildup and maintain a monolithic look. The units are wall-hung with a shadow gap at the wall and a floor-mounted plinth below, creating a light, airy aesthetic while providing secondary open storage. Mitered drawer pulls sit completely flush with the top of the wood panel, combining clean architectural lines with highly tactile, ergonomic operation.
